Where is my bowstring
Anybody else here wishing they could actually see there bowstring, I do, I would like to see different colors to them as well, like orange for a Fiery bowstring and a blue-white
color for an icy bowstring, I see room for improvement here, what are some other cool
ideas ??

Bow string is ok, but arrows is more important, sure you see the arrow in flight, but there is no quiver, no arrow in hand when you set your bow.
Honestly, arrows out of nowhere? Sure so rangers don't have to buy and use actual arrow items, but they could have a visible quiver on the back for realizm, I mean if you can put a cape on them then a quiver shouldn't be hard.

This has been suggestion before, and needs to keep being suggested.
(Be sure to refer to my thread, "A Collection of Ranger Suggestions", for more ranger suggestions.)
Bows need bowstrings. Simple as that. And it is not hard to add a bowstring to a game, trust me, I know.
Rangers need quivers. In fact there is a ranger NPC who does have a quiver,
and archer helmet, although his name I know not.

Actually, it can be very hard to add them to a game. Trust me...I know, Ive done it.

not as hard as creating an entirely new armor... its a few thousand black pixels with a physics generator so that it moves when the hand pulls it back.... not too tough compared to other things..

Seems kind of pointless. Who cares about a single barely visible line? Who cares if arrows come from nowhere? I mean this isn't a game where you have to collect arrows or anything to shoot them, you have unlimited because it's about skill. I really think it's fine how it is, I don't need more polygons to add to the lag.

Youve never done anything like this, have you?
Its a lot simpler to just do it in 3d like the rest of the game.
no physics involved and only 12 tris /\====\=====\ (so it can bend in the middle like (| (> (| like i said)
Its a lot easier than you say...but that doesnt make it easy. There are a lot of bows out there. The main problem is I dont think you would like the results.

Quivers and a different kind of head equipment are more important than a bowstring.

first of all, i dont think we need to be arguing to how hard it is to make the string, we can let guild wars handle that.

we are not comparing which suggestions are better, its not like guild wars said "we can only do one or the other". having a string on a bow is all we are talking about here.
also, suggestions about headgear and bow strings are totally different. head gear is adding more armor in the game while quivers and bow strings are appearance-related.

perhaps the quiver could maybe give some extra bonus to the firing speed/flight time/range etc of the bow (detract and add to these features), with a wide range available, though the detractions would need to perfectly balance out the additions, or rangers would become statistically superior

A quiver could go in the second slot under the bow and could do stuff like:
-firing speed - flight time
- flight time - range (etc)
lower firing speed would make sence when put with lower flight time, all sorts of stuff like that. This would also fix the extra slot on rangers when farming. (hammer warriors and casters with a staff have this extra slot too)

The bowstring is probably in the same place as the handles on the inside of shields.
Unless they're velcroed™ to the back of the hand.

Adding a bow-string is a very easy model change to implement, especially given the 3D engine GW uses. Shield handles would be barely visible since they are usually covered by the shield itself. Arrows being nocked on bows are always in plain sight, so the missing string really stands out.
